Handelsman and his family were killed in the attack
One of the 18 people from the same family killed in an Israeli airstrike in al-Zawayda on the Gaza Strip last night was the businessman Sami Jawad al-Ejlah, writes AP who is on the spot.
In the middle of the night, the house he and his family had sought shelter in was hit. In addition to him, eleven of his children and another six family members were also killed. Sami Jawad al-Ejlah has worked in collaboration with the Israeli military to import fish and meat to the Gaza Strip.
According to witnesses, the building was hit by three rockets. Pictures from the scene show aid workers searching for bodies in the rubble of the buildings.

Gaza Civil Defense: 18 from a family killed in attack
18 people from the same family have been killed in an Israeli air strike against Gaza, the Gaza civil defense told AP. Among the dead are nine children and three women.
The family's home in central Gaza was hit in the attack, according to the Civil Defense spokesman. A witness tells the news agency that three rockets must have hit the building in which the family was located.
- There were many children and women in there... What have they done to deserve this? says the witness.
Israel's military has yet to comment on the incident.

Hezbollah's response to the attack: 50 robots against Israel
Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged attacks on Saturday, AP reports. An Israeli attack on Lebanon killed at least ten Syrian citizens, according to the country's health authority.
In what was described as a response to that attack, Hezbollah later in the day fired at least 50 robots at an Israeli military base, according to Israel's military. Two Israeli soldiers are said to have been injured.
Over 500 people in Lebanon have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7, according to the news agency. In northern Israel, around 50 people have been killed in attacks from the Lebanese side of the border during the same period.

At least ten dead in air raids on residential buildings in Lebanon
At least ten people have been killed and five injured in an Israeli air raid on a residential building in Nabatieh, in southern Lebanon, last night, writes AFP.
Israel's military told Reuters that the target was one of Hezbollah's weapons depots.
Tensions in the region have increased in recent weeks since an attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on July 27. Twelve children were killed in the attack. Just days later, a Hezbollah leader was killed in Beirut, whom Israel singled out as responsible for the crime.
