Boeing cuts
Boeing offered a 30 percent higher salary - got the nob
Aircraft manufacturer Boeing is offering staff a 30 percent higher salary over four years and a series of other concessions, but the union is not taking the proposal to a vote, Reuters reports.
- The employees know that management can do better, says union leader Brian Bryant in a statement.
33,000 employees have been on strike since September 13, something that will cost Boeing several million dollars. The aircraft manufacturer said yesterday that it had made its "last and best offer".

Nordea: Big cities overtake the Norrland region next year
The cities in the upper Norrland region have recently acted as locomotives for Swedish growth, while the big cities have held back. But now a shift in roles is expected, according to Nordea's macro manager Susanne Spector.
- The big cities are expected to catch up when the interest rate cuts gain momentum, she tells TT.
The gross regional product, GRP, in the Stockholm region is expected to grow 2 percent in 2025, while upper Norrland will slow down and grow 1 percent. According to Susanne Spector, the changed roles are connected to the fact that the big cities have been affected to a greater degree by the tougher economy and by the Riksbank's interest rate changes.

Likes Northvolt to Titanic: "Wrong in many ways"
Northvolt is mismanaged in so many ways and it's hard to see which investor would want to step in with more money. That's what Christian Sandström, docent at Jönköping University and expert on green industrial policy, tells SvD.
According to Sandström, the company has financed the expansion through debt, which means that any new investment would only go towards solving debts or paying interest.
To a question about what the management can now conceivably discuss, Sandström answers:
- No idea. What did the crew of the Titanic discuss when the ship took on water and began to sink? Lifeboats maybe.

Employee: Confusing - don't know who has to go
Hanna, who moved from Central Europe to Skellefteå for her job at Northvolt, still doesn't know if she has to leave, she tells TT.
- It was confusing, because we got the numbers, but we don't know who is affected, says Hanna, whose real name is something else.
Northvolt notifies 1,000 people in Skellefteå to direct all focus on the core business. Ted Gillblad is not worried about his own job, which is included in that particular part. But he knows others who are worried.
- Many people have moved here to Skellefteå just to work at Northvolt, and this is what happens. It is very sad, he tells DN.
