A light phenomenon is puzzling readers across the country.
The explanation could be a rocket launch from SpaceX.
– It doesn't look like anything I've seen before, says meteorologist Lasse Rydqvist.
During the evening, attentive readers contacted Aftonbladet regarding a light phenomenon that looks like a blue spiral.
It is said to have appeared in the sky at around 9 pm.
– It's nothing I've seen before. It's hard to figure out what it could be, says Lasse Rydqvist, the meteorologist at Klart.
The explanation could be a launch from SpaceX.
– The pattern should be characteristic of when the fuel is released from the spinning rocket, says Lasse Rydqvist.
Space X launched a rocket in Florida in the USA at 7 pm on Monday evening.
Clas Svahn, chairman of UFO Sweden, also believes that it is a launch from SpaceX.
However, his first thought was that it could be a failed launch of a Russian missile or robot.
– They launched one on December 10, 2009 from a base in the Barents Sea. It started spinning and fuel was thrown out, he says.
You could witness it from northern Sweden at that time.
Rocket that dropped a stage
And it looked exactly the same.
– It doesn't have to be something that went wrong. It could also be a rocket that dropped a stage that started to rotate, says Clas Svahn.
This is not the first time the spiral has appeared in the sky.
A similar phenomenon was seen in Alaska two years ago, The Guardian reported. At the time, a space physicist told the newspaper that the explanation was a SpaceX rocket discharging excess fuel.
