Over
13,000 people have signed an online petition to support the three
demands made by political hunger strikers Tawan and Bam as of Saturday.
The
move came as Tawan and Bam left Thammasat University Hospital late
Friday afternoon to continue their hunger strike outside the Supreme
Court. The two women have been on hunger strike since Jan 18. Their
lawyer wants to have their blood tested as he is increasingly concerns
about their health.
Their
three demands are: judicial reform, bail rights for all pre-trial
political prisoners and for all political parties to support the
abolition of the lese majeste and sedition laws.
Bangkok
governor Chadchart Sittipunt said on Saturday Bangkok will soon be
brighter at night as many old bulbs will be replaced by LED lights.
Chadchart said as many as 15,000 light bulbs are not functioning but
City Hall has replaced 10,000 of them. He said LED light is brighter and
consume only a fifth of energy compared to older and less-bright high
