The election in the United States

Trump's team
Donald Trump has nominated his NATO ambassador

Donald Trump has nominated Matthew Whitaker to be the US ambassador to NATO. This is stated by the president-elect in a statement according to several media.

Whitaker was deputy attorney general during Trump's last term.

“Matt is a strong warrior and loyal patriot who will ensure that America's interests are advanced and defended. Matt will strengthen relations with our NATO allies and stand up to threats to peace and stability - he will put AMERICA FIRST," Trump wrote in his statement.

Elon Musk reportedly wants to stop government homework

Tech billionaire Elon Musk and biotech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, who will lead Donald Trump's efficiency department, are expected, according to CNN's sources, to put an end to home work for government employees.

The idea is that this will cause employees to resign and that wage costs will therefore decrease.

- It's a no-brainer and something that many private companies have already done. Why shouldn't government employees, who are paid with tax money, have to be at work, says the source.

So far, the plans are said to be in an early stage and may change.

The indictments against Trump
Trump's team: Ignore the prosecutor - drop the case

Donald Trump's lawyers want the judge handling the case about the so-called "hush money" to drop the charges, AP reports.

On Tuesday, prosecutor Alvin Bragg announced that he does not want the case to be dropped, but that he is open to delaying the case as the conditions are currently challenging.

Trump's lawyers are not entirely unexpectedly of a different opinion.

“On November 5, the nation's citizens issued a mandate stronger than the prosecutor's. This case must be dismissed immediately," they write.

Trump has already been convicted on all 34 counts in the case, but the penalty has not yet been announced.

Trump's victory
SHB: Inflation returns - "will chase Trump"

The politicians in the United States have claimed victory over inflation in advance. This is written by Handelsbanken's head of forecasting, Johan Löf, who believes that inflation will chase Donald Trump during the coming term.

Inflation is not only still too high and sensitive to new shocks, it is also expected to rise with Donald Trump as president, according to Löf. He warns, among other things, that the bond market is already on "highest alert".

"Inflation is expected to return with full force and will also affect the next presidential term. So when will the Fed act?” he writes.

Economist: Trump's tariffs risk reducing growth "significantly"

Donald Trump's promises of increased tariffs will slow economic growth in the United States, said Morgan Stanley's chief economist Seth Carpenter to CNBC.

He expects the tariffs to come into effect at various times next year, and that they will be inflationary. Should Trump introduce the tariffs at the same time, there is a risk of "major negative shocks", he warns.

- We expect that growth in the US will decrease significantly until 2026 due to the tariffs and some other policy measures, he says.
