Argentina first country to leave the UN force in Lebanon
Argentina's four officers are leaving the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, Reuters reports. The decision comes directly from President Javier Milei, diplomatic sources told Argentina's Perfil. It is seen as a confirmation of his restructuring of foreign policy in which he seeks solidarity with Israel.
Over the past two months, more than 20 soldiers from the force have been injured in attacks blamed on Israel. Israel has claimed that the UN force is being used as human shields by the terrorist group Hezbollah and has ordered the UN to evacuate southern Lebanon. It is not relevant according to official statements, AP writes.
