Climate activists awarded Right Livelihood Prize
Indigenous lawyer Julian Aguon and the student organization Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC) are awarded the Right Livelihood Prize. This is because they together took the climate crisis to the world's highest court, the ICJ, earlier this year, report Ekot and SVTNews.
The prize is awarded to people who fight for a better world. The award is given by the Right Livelihood Foundation, headquartered in Stockholm.
Three other people are being honored: an organization fighting against the military regime in Myanmar, a former minister in Taiwan and an aid organization in Sudan.
