Trump wants to replace ICE chiefs – demands tougher action

US President Donald Trump is planning a major restructuring of the US immigration agency ICE, several media outlets report. Among other things, several regional chiefs are to be replaced with Border Patrol officers, two sources at the Department of the Interior told NBC News.

According to the New York Times, there is frustration in the White House over the pace of deportations, which has so far lagged behind Trump's goal of deporting one million people in the first half of his term.

CBS News describes the restructuring as a potential shift in immigration policy. While ICE has been criticized for its raids, the Border Patrol has mainly focused its arrests on people they know are in the US illegally.

The Border Patrol's actions have also been significantly more aggressive – such as flying into residential buildings from Black Hawk helicopters and storming out of rented trucks in Home Depot parking lots.

Trump to Pence: “You’re going down in history as a pussy”

Donald Trump is said to have called former Vice President Mike Pence a “pussy” in their last conversation before Joe Biden’s election victory was confirmed on January 6, 2021.

This is evident from notes that Jonathan Karl has reviewed and is writing about in his new book “Retribution,” reports ABC News.

– You’re going down in history as a pussy, Trump is said to have told Pence about the decision not to invalidate the election results.

According to the notes, Pence is said to have reminded Trump that they both took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, writes The Guardian.

– It doesn’t take courage to break the law. It takes courage to uphold it, he is said to have said.

Obama raged at Pelosi after endorsing Harris: “What the hell have you done?”

The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, is said to have been very upset with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she openly supported Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate immediately after Joe Biden's defection.

This is according to ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl's new book "Retribution", which the Daily Mail has read in advance.

According to a source in the book, close to Pelosi, the conversation between Obama and Pelosi is summed up with the words: "What the hell did you just do?"

Nancy Pelosi's support is said to have come as a shock to Obama, who, according to the book, believed that he and Pelosi agreed that a new presidential candidate should not be elected uncontested - which is why they both waited so long to openly support someone.
