Bezos: AI is a good bubble – we want to avoid banking bubbles

The monumental investments in AI technology and infrastructure have created a bubble – but a good kind of bubble. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said this during the technology conference in Italy on Friday.

– This is a kind of industrial bubble that is different from financial bubbles.

Bezos argues that the innovation that comes out of industrial bubbles will be good for society.

– Banking bubbles, crises in the banking system, are only bad. It's like 2008. These are the kind of bubbles that society wants to avoid.

Volvo nears decision on new billion-dollar factory

Volvo CE is nearing a decision on where the company's new Swedish billion-dollar factory for excavators will be built. Several municipalities are in the running, but much speaks for Eskilstuna, where Volvo already has its headquarters and largest Swedish facility with around 2,500 employees, reports EFN.

Director of Business Niklas Edmark points to a central location, strong logistics, good skills supply and fast government processes – important factors as Volvo wants to start production within two years.

At the same time, a legal process is underway regarding a greatly expanded operation in Eskilstuna.

Saab and Rheinmetall are ready to build a "drone wall"

The EU wants to build a "drone wall" against Russia, but what it will look like in practice is unclear. However, defense companies such as Saab, Danish Terma and German Rheinmetall are ready to start building, writes Børsen.

They describe it as the "wall" should be built as a cross-border ecosystem of sensors, radar systems and weapons. It is a complex project, Rheinmetall states in a comment.

"The challenges lie in detecting and distinguishing between small drones and in defending against swarm attacks. An effective drone defense must combine multiple countermeasures," writes a spokesperson for the defense giant.
