Fire risk in battery: BMW recalls 140,000 electric cars
BMW is recalling over 140,000 copies of the Mini Cooper SE electric car due to a fire risk in the battery. The Wall Street Journal reports.
In tests, it has been discovered that there is a potential risk of leakage from the battery that could cause a fire. Another risk is that the battery completely sonically ceases to function during travel.
BMW will now update the software in the cars. If you are the owner of a Mini Cooper SE and receive a letter or error message, you should take the car to a service center.

Delist the luxury yacht
Billionaire lawsuit against Lynch continues after his death
British billionaire Mike Lynch died when his luxury yacht sank in Italy in August. But that doesn't stop Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) from pushing ahead with its billion-dollar suit against him, writes The Guardian.
The IT giant has accused the tech mogul and his former CFO Sushovan Hussain of inflating the value of Lynch's software company Autonomy when it was sold to HPE in 2011. In a civil lawsuit in 2022, the company was largely right, and soon a judge will announce what the damages will be.
The company has a responsibility to its shareholders, says Oliver Embley, partner at law firm Wedlake Bell. But from a purely journalistic point of view, the process risks backfiring against them, he believes.
- In practice, they would sue his widow and it doesn't look good.

Huge asteroid altered the solar system's largest moon
Many, many years ago, Jupiter's and the Solar System's largest moon, Ganymede, was hit by an asteroid 20 times larger than the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. This is shown by new research at Kobe University in Japan, writes international media.
The collision, which took place about four billion years ago, was so large that Ganymede's axis shifted. It also left a huge crater on the moon, which scientists say was initially 1.6 kilometers wide.
According to researcher Naoyuki Hirata, the asteroid may have completely changed the moon's surface and affected its interior, which scientists believe contains a hidden saltwater ocean.
