The negotiations

Biden: Netanyahu is not doing enough for a deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not doing enough to broker a cease-fire agreement and the release of hostages in port. That is what US President Joe Biden says, according to Reuters.

The president claims at the same time that such an agreement is "very close".

Large-scale protests against Netanyahu and the government are expected in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem this evening. The United States, along with several other countries, has participated in the attempts to negotiate a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel.
Negotiations have been going on for months

Court: The strike is political - must be called off

An Israeli labor court has ordered a halt to the general strike that paralyzed the country on Monday, AFP reports.

"The strike must end today", writes the court in a statement, where it is noted that it is "politically motivated" and therefore illegal.

According to the Times of Israel, the trade union organization Histadrut has opened up to the possibility that the strike may be extended, but has not yet given a definitive statement.

The strikers are demanding that the government conclude a ceasefire agreement with Hamas to bring home the hostages held by the terrorist organization in Gaza.

Source: The US files on "take it or leave it" proposal on Gaza

The news that six hostages were found dead in Gaza this weekend may give renewed force to the talks about a truce between Israel and Hamas, writes the Washington Post. At the same time, the United States may soon be ready to throw in the towel on the negotiations, if no agreement is reached, US government sources told the newspaper.

According to a senior source, the US, Egypt and Qatar are filing the outlines of a "take it or leave" agreement on Gaza that is expected to be presented in a few weeks. If the agreement is not accepted by both Hamas and Israel, it could mark the end of the US-led negotiations, the source said.

- You cannot continue to negotiate about this. This process must end at some point.

Huge protests were held across Israel on Sunday evening after the six people held hostage in Gaza were found dead.
