Bug at Microsoft - could not collect security logs

A bug in a system has meant that for almost a month Microsoft has not been able to collect critical security logs as the company usually does. As a result, several of the company's customers have been vulnerable to cyber attacks. This is reported by CSO Online.

The security logs are a kind of digital register that contains various information about security-related events, writes Computer Sweden.

The collection outage reportedly lasted between September 2 and October 3, affecting services such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Sentinel.

Bytedance fires intern - sabotaged AI project

Tiktok's parent company Bytedance has fired an intern who allegedly sabotaged an AI project at the company. The person must have engaged in "harmful" behavior in the training of an AI model used in a research project. The Guardian reports.
None of the company's commercial and officially available products have been affected, nor has the underlying generative AI model the company uses been affected, according to Bytedance.

Bytedance states that over the weekend, exaggerated rumors began to circulate about what had happened, including that the whole thing should have affected 8 000 of the company's graphics processors and cost the company several million dollars.
