Seven people arrested in Israel for spying for Iran

Seven people are accused of spying for Iran, Haaretz reports. According to the prosecutor, they are suspected of having provided information about the Israeli army bases and about the Iron Dome air defense system over a two-year period.

The suspects are said to have come to Israel from Azerbaijan and are accused of carrying out 600 to 700 missions for the Iranian intelligence service. They are also suspected of having received hundreds of thousands of dollars in transfers from Russian tourists, as well as in digital currencies, writes Haaretz.

Iran raises concerns to UN over Israel's threat of retaliation

Iran has written to the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA to complain about Israeli threats to attack the country's nuclear power facilities, a State Department spokesman told Reuters.

This after Israel threatened to carry out attacks against Iran as revenge for Iran firing several robots over the country on October 1. There has been speculation that Iranian nuclear facilities could be one of the targets.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently said that it is listening to the United States regarding the response to Iran's attack, but that Israel is making decisions based on its own national interests.

Sources: Israel's demands to end Lebanon war

Israel has sent a document to the United States with its terms for a diplomatic solution to end the war in Lebanon. Two US officials and two Israeli officials told Axios.

According to the officials, one of the demands from Israel should be that the Israeli military IDF should be engaged in ensuring that Hezbollah does not arm and build up its military infrastructure in border areas in southern Lebanon. Israel also wants its air force to have freedom of operation in Lebanese airspace. The document is said to have been sent last Thursday before President Joe Biden's envoy Amos Hochstein visits Beirut today to discuss a diplomatic solution.

A US official told Axios that the international community is highly unlikely to agree to Israel's demands.
