Lula da Silva is doing "super well" after the brain haemorrhage

Brazil's President Lula da Silva suffered a minor brain hemorrhage this weekend and injured his head when he fell in his home. This is confirmed by the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, at a press conference according to Reuters.

He adds that the president on Monday is doing "super well."

Lula da Silva has also posted a picture of X that shows him sitting in a meeting with Alexandre Padilha and his foreign affairs adviser. After the weekend's injury, Lula was forced to cancel his participation in the BRICS summit in Russia.

Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva suffered a brain hemorrhage last Saturday in his official residence, Palácio do Alvorada, writes the Brazilian media company O Globo. Lula slipped and fell, resulting in a head injury that required five stitches and on-site care.

After the accident, he was taken to the hospital and allowed to go home the same day. According to close aides, Lula is active and walking, and a brain X-ray showed a small brain bleed.

The injury forced Lula to cancel his trip to Russia.
