The Fed vs Inflation
Economist: The probability that the Fed will keep interest rates is increasing

The probability that the US central bank Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged during the November meeting is getting bigger and bigger. That's what Apollo's chief economist Torsten Slok argues for in a market letter from last Saturday, reports Bloomberg.

The reason is that the American economy just keeps on thundering. High housing and share prices as well as strong corporate financing are some of the reasons. That's what Slok thinks, who also refers to a report from the Atlanta Fed that predicts GDP growth of 3.4 percent during the third quarter.

Israel: Hezbollah hides billions under hospitals

Israel states that it has attacked around 20 targets in Lebanon that are linked to Hezbollah's money, AFP reports.

During the last day's attacks, Israel is said to have targeted places where Hezbollah is said to be hiding tens of millions of dollars in gold and cash. IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari also says there is a bunker under Al Sahel Hospital in Beirut where the Iran-backed militia is said to be hiding large sums of money.

- According to our calculations, there is half a billion dollars in dollar bills in this bunker, he says.

The hospital has been evacuated on Monday evening but the IDF says that they are only guarding the bunker and that they will not attack the hospital. Fadi Alameh, who is the head of the hospital, says that the IDF's claim is not true and that the rooms under the hospital are operating theatres.

Seoul's warning to the Kremlin: Responding forcefully to threats

Russia's ambassador in Seoul has been summoned by the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday. At the meeting, South Korea demanded that Russia send home the approximately 1,500 North Korean soldiers who are reportedly being trained for combat in Ukraine, and that the countries' military cooperation should end. The Korea Herald reports.

South Korea's deputy foreign minister is said to have condemned the cooperation in the "strongest possible terms" and given Russia a warning:

"Threats to our security will be met with all available means in cooperation with the international community," the deputy minister is said to have said, according to a statement.

North Korea is said to be ready to assist Russia with 12,000 soldiers in the invasion of Ukraine. In addition to South Korea, NATO and the United States have also warned that the development is dangerous.
