Ancient rock carvings could rewrite Europe's history
New discoveries in Spain could rewrite Europe's prehistory, reports The Independent. It concerns a carving on a block of stone believed to be 200,000 years old, which is twice as old as the previous oldest known carving.
The carving depicts a simple cross and was discovered in an area where archaeologists have previously found some of Europe's oldest stone tools.
The people who made the carvings are believed to belong to an early wave of migrants who came to Europe from Africa.
Top American lawyer found dead – 43 years old
Former US top prosecutor Jessica Aber has been found dead in her home, American media reports. 43-year-old Aber previously held a position roughly equivalent to attorney general at the state level in Virginia but resigned the same day Donald Trump was sworn in as president.
Aber has previously been responsible for several heavy investigations, often targeting foreign nationals. For example, in 2023 she investigated suspicions against Russian military personnel who were accused of war crimes and of torturing an American after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, USA Today reports.
The death will be investigated but initially there are no suspicions of a crime, according to American media. Instead, the death is said to be related to a previous illness, Fox News reports.
