The police blew up a suspicious package at the embassy in London

The London police are currently on site at the American embassy in the city due to a suspicious package, reports Reuters. A moment later, the police announced that a controlled explosion had been carried out.

"We can confirm that the 'loud bang' reported in the area a short time ago was a controlled explosion carried out by police officers," writes the London police.

An area has been cordoned off in connection with the operation.
 
Parts of Gatwick evacuated after 'security incident'

Part of Gatwick Airport in London has been evacuated due to the police investigating a "security incident". This is stated by the airport in a statement.

According to Sky News, a suspicious object has been found in a bag. Pictures and videos from the airport, which is the second largest in the UK, show how people move from the south terminal, writes the channel.

Airplanes on their way to the airport can still land. The northern terminal is not affected by the effort.

The suspected Norwegian spy was a guard at the US embassy

This week, a Norwegian man in his 20s was arrested and detained on suspicion of espionage, Norwegian media reports. According to the Norwegian security police, PST, the man has, among other things, worked as a guard at the US embassy in Oslo.

Two people have been arrested in Italy, suspected of having spied on behalf of Russia. This is reported by AFP with reference to the prosecutor's office in Milan.

The police in Laos have arrested the owner and manager of the hotel in Vang Vieng where two teenagers from Australia fell ill after drinking drinks suspected to contain methanol, writes the AP news agency. 19-year-old Bianca Jones was confirmed dead earlier this week and on Friday Australian media reported that 19-year-old Holly Bowles also died.

A total of six people have died in Laos in the suspected poisoning incident. In addition to the two women from Australia, it is about two Danish tourists, an American and a British citizen.

In addition to the hotel manager, additional people have been taken in for questioning. No charges have yet been filed, according to local police.
