Arrest warrants issued for Netanyahu and Gallant
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. This is announced by the ICC, news agencies report.
Netanyahu and Gallant are accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed between October 8, 2023 and May 20 of this year. According to the ICC, there are reasonable grounds to believe that the men committed the crimes, including through starvation as weapons, murder and persecution.
The arrest warrant makes Netanyahu and Gallant internationally wanted, which is likely to further isolate them and complicate efforts to bring about a ceasefire, AP writes.

Expert: ICC's announcement a test for the world order
That the International Criminal Court ICC wants to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant means that the "rules-based world order" is being tested. Anders Persson, Middle East expert, tells TT.
- Above all for European states, I don't think Trump will attach much importance to this, he says.
Whether the ICC's decision will have any immediate effect on the war in the region is difficult to say, according to Persson.
- Above all, it affects diplomacy. Israel will of course react furiously, I would think they will make the anti-Semitism argument as well.
