Source: Robot against Ukraine not intercontinental

CNN has spoken to an anonymous Western source who says it was not a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile, ICBM, in this morning's attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

The source says it is a ballistic robot but did not respond to questions about what type it is.

On X, Pavel Podvig, researcher and nuclear weapons expert, has also written that it is "unlikely" that it was an intercontinental robot that crashed in Ukraine.

That Russia would use an intercontinental robot against Ukrainian targets so close does not seem logical, he writes according to Sky News.

Ukraine, which says it is the first time ICBMs have been used in the war, has been tight-lipped about the extent of the damage.

Ukraine: Russia launched intercontinental robot

During the morning, Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, ICBM, against Ukraine for the first time since the war broke out, Reuters reports, citing a statement from the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Russian attack targeted businesses and critical infrastructure in the city of Dnipro, but it is not clear how extensive the damage was. The robot, which has a range of thousands of kilometers, is said to have been launched from Astrakhan in southern Russia.

The Ukrainian data comes after the country received permission to use US long-range weapons to attack targets on Russian territory.

The outside world's response
Norway gives half a billion Norwegian kroner to Ukraine

Norway gives half a billion Norwegian kroner to Ukraine. Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram announces this, reports TT.

The money goes to the Ukrainian defense industry.

- Norway takes from its own holdings and buys from Norwegian industry, but it is not enough. We need to give Ukraine better opportunities to produce more, and this support will contribute to that," the minister said in a statement.
