War threat drives tourists to flee Kashmir hotels
The scenic Neelam district in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir attracts 300,000 tourists each summer – but now the hotels are empty, reports AP.
– Most tourists have returned to their hometowns because of the risk of war, says hotel owner Rafaqat Hussain.
The Neelam Valley is just a few kilometers from the border that separates the Pakistani and Indian-controlled areas. India has closed a number of tourist resorts on its side.
The high-tension situation between India and Pakistan continues, but so far nothing has come of the imminent Indian attack that Pakistan said it had intelligence about on Tuesday.

India: Terrorists must be brought to justice
Those responsible for the terrorist attack that killed 26 Indian tourists in Kashmir last week must be brought to justice. That was the message Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar gave to his American counterpart Marco Rubio in a phone call, according to X.
Rubio has held talks with both India and Pakistan to try to ease the tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations following the attack.
According to Indian authorities and survivors, the tourist resort of Pahalgam was attacked by militant Islamists who shot dead all men with Hindu names. The Pakistani government denies involvement and is calling for an independent investigation.
