US, Norway and Germany to give Ukraine more Patriots
The US and Germany have agreed to supply five new Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said, according to the Kyiv Independent.
During a meeting with Ukraine's allies on Monday, Pistorius said the agreement was made with his US counterpart Pete Hegseth during a recent visit to Washington.
At the same meeting, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre also announced that Norway was ready to buy more air defence systems for Ukraine, and that Patriot systems are "top priority", writes Reuters.
He added that it would be "helpful" if the US could clarify its position on the deliveries.
Denmark helps develop autonomous AI drones
Denmark's largest arms company Terma is starting to manufacture drones together with Ukraine's fastest growing drone manufacturer Odd Systems, writes Danish Berlingske.
The Danish company will contribute high-tech components. The goal is to create a “revolutionary” weapon before the end of the year: a self-guided drone that flies and attacks with the help of AI, completely without human intervention.
“The details are for the Russians to discover for themselves. But in general, it is about winning air supremacy,” says Terma’s vice president Filip Rensch-Jacobsen.
According to Odd Systems, Ukraine is far ahead of Russia when it comes to new drone technology, which it hopes can provide an important advantage later in the war.
UK: Arm Ukraine for 50 days
UK is urging Ukraine’s allies to step up their arms support for a 50-day period, AFP reports.
This comes a week after Donald Trump gave Russia an ultimatum to sign a ceasefire or peace agreement within 50 days, or face 100 percent tariffs.
British Defense Secretary John Healy presented the initiative during a meeting with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius. The two countries have agreed to supply Ukraine with 220,000 anti-aircraft shells, Pistorius added.
