Expert on semi-automatic weapons to Ukraine: "They are not good in combat"

The semi-automatic weapons that the Swedish government has decided to send to Ukraine are not military weapons. This is what former Lieutenant Colonel Jörgen Elfving tells DN.

- They are not good to use in combat.

It was at the end of June that the government proposed that certain semi-automatic weapons, such as the AR-15, should be banned from hunting in Sweden. The weapons that are handed in will be donated to Ukraine, according to the proposal.

Poland: Russia ready for "global confrontation" in 2027

Russia will be able to be ready for a "confrontation" with the West in two years. This was said by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Saturday, reports the PAP news agency. In a speech, Tusk said he had spoken to Alexus Grynkewich, NATO’s new Supreme Allied Commander Europe.

“According to all assessments within NATO and the United States, Russia and China will be ready for a global confrontation as early as 2027,” he said.

The prime minister also spoke about Russian hybrid warfare already taking place on the Polish border in the east. According to him, this is proof that Russia is “preparing for 2027.”
