Trump's USA Trump's budget

Green light for Trump's "One big beautiful bill"

Donald Trump's budget package "One big beautiful bill" gets the green light from the House of Representatives and has thus made it through the US Congress. The only thing left now is Trump's signature.

The final numbers in the vote were 218 yes and 214 no. All Democrats and two Republicans were against the package.

Before the vote, the Democratic minority leader Hakeem Jeffries gave an 8 hour and 44 minute long speech to delay the vote.

The controversial package contains a multitude of laws and budget changes that will have repercussions throughout American society. Democrats and several of the most conservative Republicans have opposed several parts of the package.

Trump has long said that he wants to sign the package tomorrow, that is, on the US National Day.

Trump's vote delayed with record-long speech

The US House of Representatives is set to vote on Donald Trump's budget package later tonight, but the vote was severely delayed after an eight-hour and 45-minute speech by Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

The speech is the longest ever given in the House of Representatives. From the rostrum, Jeffries read stories about how Americans are expected to be affected by Trump's cuts. He spoke slowly, took long pauses between words, and the House Democrats occasionally stood up in long ovations.

Donald Trump describes the budget package as "the big beautiful proposal," while Hakeem Jeffries calls it "the big ugly proposal."

When Jeffries finishes his speech, Speaker Mike Johnson is expected to give a much shorter speech before the House votes on whether to finally approve Trump's bill.

Sources: Trump has planned a ceremony for his budget

Donald Trump has planned to sign his controversial budget package during a ceremony on Friday, which is also the US national holiday. This is reported by three Republican sources to NBC News.

The final vote in Congress is scheduled to be held today, but has been delayed by the fact that the Democratic minority leader, Hakeem Jeffries, has given a marathon speech that has lasted more than six hours at the time of writing.

Trump has long said that he wants to sign the package during the US national holiday. According to the information, when the ceremony will take place on Friday has not yet been decided.
