Trump's USA

Musk's new party
Republicans worried about Musk's party ahead of the Senate election

Republican senators in the US are worried that the fight between Elon Musk and Donald Trump could cost them seats in the Senate in the 2026 election. This is reported by The Hill.

Elon Musk said earlier this week that he is founding a new party called the America Party after a major fight with the president over his "Big beautiful bill".

Republicans that The Hill has spoken to are not particularly worried that any candidates from the America Party will actually win elections to the Senate. However, they can suck up votes from people who would otherwise have voted Republican, and thus benefit Democratic candidates in states where it is even.

- He can split our party, says Republican Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin.

- We have some voters who actually care about the national debt. Democrats do not.

Border Issue
Judge Blocks Trump's Citizenship Ban

A judge in the United States is temporarily blocking the presidential order that has suspended the right to citizenship for everyone born within the country's borders. NBC News reports.

- This will protect all children in this country from this illegal, unconstitutional and cruel presidential order, said Cody Wofsy, a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, during a press conference.

The White House and the Justice Department now have a week to appeal the decision.

The New Space Race
Trump names Musk's "enemy" as interim NASA administrator

Donald Trump has named Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy as acting NASA administrator. Duffy will hold both jobs at the same time.

"He will be a fantastic leader for the increasingly important space agency, even if it is for a short time," Trump wrote on social media.

Trump's previous choice for NASA administrator, tech billionaire Jared Isaacman, was close to Elon Musk, with whom the president now has a stormy relationship. When Musk left the White House, Trump withdrew Isaacman's nomination.

The relationship between Sean Duffy and Musk is all the worse. The Daily Beast describes Duffy as Musk's "enemy." The two have had deep disagreements, especially on flight safety and issues related to NASA.

Cuts at NASA could hit key talent

At least 2,145, mostly high-ranking, NASA employees are expected to leave their jobs as a result of the White House's planned cuts, according to documents seen by Politico.

NASA could lose key talent that would make it difficult to carry out a manned space flight to the moon in 2027 and then to Mars, missions that are both technologically advanced and logistically complex.

Since Donald Trump took office as president again, the space agency has been thrown into a chaos of layoffs and budget concerns, according to Politico. Dozens of space programs are at risk of closure.
