Trump is sending two nuclear submarines to Russia.

This is a response to “provocative” statements from Russia, he writes on Truth Social.

The submarines are to be placed in “appropriate areas”.

According to Trump, the provocative comments come from Dmitrij Medvedev, the former president of Russia.

Now Trump is ordering two nuclear submarines to Russia. The submarines are to be placed in “appropriate areas, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that”, writes Trump.

Russia pressures the US

"Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope that will not be the case in this case," the  US president wrote further.

He goes into detail about which statements by Dmitry Medvedev he is referring to.

Earlier this week, Medvedev wrote in a post on X  that "every new ultimatum from the US is a threat and a step towards war".

This in turn came after Trump threatened new sanctions against Russia due to the war in Ukraine.

Medvedev is currently deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.
