Cambodia: We nominate Trump for the Peace Prize
Cambodia will nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said according to Fox News.
According to Chanthol, Trump was crucial in achieving the current ceasefire with Thailand.

Both Israel and Pakistan have previously stated that they have nominated Trump for the Peace Prize.
Thailand has denied all allegations.
Thailand invites the UN after allegations of abuse of prisoners
Thailand invites the UN and the Red Cross to visit the 18 Cambodian soldiers being held captive in the country. This is reported by Thai PBS.
Cambodia has accused Thailand of mistreating its prisoners, after two released Cambodian soldiers testified that they were abused by their captors.
Thailand has denied all allegations.
Border conflict — the issue
Armed fighting broke out between Thailand and Cambodia on the border on July 24, 2025, resulting in at least 34 deaths and over 200,000 people being displaced.
Thailand used Jas 39 Gripen aircraft and F-16s in airstrikes against Cambodia, as confirmed by the Thai Air Force.
A ceasefire was agreed after talks between the countries' leaders in Malaysia on July 28, but Thailand has since accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire on several occasions.
Cambodia has announced that it is nominating US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering the ceasefire between the countries.
