Trump's USA Raid against Bolton

Trump: Didn't know about FBI raid on Bolton

Donald Trump says he was not given any advance notice of the FBI raid on former national security adviser John Bolton's home, writes the New York Times. The American president says he instructed the agency not to give him any information about such events.

Bolton has been an outspoken Trump critic for several years.

- I'm not a fan of John Bolton, says Trump.

According to the New York Times, FBI employees have also entered the building where Bolton has his office. A source tells NBC News that it is part of an investigation and "hunt for classified documents".

Sources: Suspected of possessing classified information

Former Trump adviser John Bolton is suspected of illegally sharing or possessing classified information. This is what two FBI sources tell the New York Times.

Bolton was national security adviser to Donald Trump during the president's first term but has become a vocal critic of him after his time in the White House. When Trump returned to the presidency, Bolton lost his security clearance.

An investigation was also conducted against him in 2021 when he was about to publish his memoirs from his time as national security adviser. At that time, the Justice Department threatened to sue him because they believed that the book contained classified information, but that investigation was later dropped.

FBI conducts raid on former Trump adviser

The FBI has searched the Maryland home of Donald Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton, a source told the AP. The source says it concerns an investigation into "handling of classified documents".

Bolton has neither been arrested nor suspected of any crime and neither the White House nor Bolton's legal representative wants to comment on the raid.

Bolton worked for Trump during his first term but has recently become a vocal critic of the president. On Donald Trump's first day as president in January, he stripped the security clearances of four former officials, Bolton among them.

FBI Director Kash Patel writes in a cryptic post on X that "no one is above the law."
