New Israeli attacks in Lebanon: "Extensive"

Israel has carried out "extensive" attacks against southern and eastern Lebanon during Wednesday morning. This is stated by the country's defense force, the IDF, in a statement according to AFP.

The attacks come hours after the Shia militia fired a ballistic missile at Mossad headquarters outside Tel Aviv earlier in the day.

During the morning, local authorities announced that three people died and another nine were injured in an Israeli attack.

15 dead in new Israeli attacks on Lebanon

At least 15 people have been killed in connection with Israel's new attacks on Lebanon, AFP reports, citing figures from the country's health authority.

Two of the attacks are said to have targeted mountainous areas outside Beirut. The news agency writes that the attacks are "rare" given that Hezbollah has historically not had strongholds in the two areas.

Four people died in an Israeli attack on a village in the Chouf region southeast of the capital Beirut on Wednesday. Three people died in a mountainous area north of the city and another eight people have been killed in southern Lebanon.

The IDF stated earlier in the day that it is carrying out "extensive" airstrikes against the country after a ballistic robot was fired at Tel Aviv.

Forced to sleep in gardens and streets after Israeli attacks: "A disaster"

Emergency services and medical personnel in Lebanon are struggling to cope with the sudden increase in people forced to flee their homes as a result of Israeli attacks. This is reported by Sky News, which has visited the city of Tyros, where many have moved.

- We have nothing left. We have no food, no water, nothing, a woman named Fatima told the channel.

Hassan Dbouk, one of the people leading the rescue effort in Tyros, says that many of the refugees are forced to sleep in gardens, on the beach or on the streets due to lack of space.

- It is a disaster, he says.

The Ministry of Health in Lebanon states that the number of people killed in connection with Monday's and Tuesday's attacks is close to 600. On Wednesday, Israel carried out new airstrikes against the southern parts of the country.

Hezbollah's robot attack on Israel worries the US

The United States is worried about escalation in the Middle East after the Shiite militia Hezbollah fired a robot at the headquarters of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, Reuters reports. It is John Kirby, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, who has spoken about the incident.

- Deeply worrying. New evidence that Israel faces a legitimate threat from a terrorist group supported by Iran, he said in an interview with CNN.

Kirby also says the United States supports Israel's right to defend itself.

- No nation should have to live with these threats at its border, he says.
