Expert: The power shakedown shows that loyalty only goes now
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has had a prominent role since Volodymyr Zelenskyy formed his first government in the country. The fact that the 43-year-old is now leaving his post is because he has a bad relationship with the president's chief of staff and "gatekeeper" Andrij Jermak. This is what Ryhor Nizhnikau, senior researcher at the Finnish Foreign Policy Institute, tells TT.
During the war years, Jermak has gained more and more power, and according to Nizhnikau, Kuleba is one of the last ministers who is not personally loyal to him. The power shake-up is a sign that loyalty now comes first in Ukraine, a development that risks worsening the country's relationship with allies and affecting the war capability, the researcher believes.
- Competent people, who are highly regarded even in the West, are fired for no apparent reason, says Nizhnikau.

People are believed to be trapped under the riots in Poltava
The death toll continues to rise after Tuesday's Russian robot attacks against Poltava in Ukraine. So far, 53 have been confirmed dead. According to the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, rescue workers are still searching for 13 people who may be trapped under the rubble.
The Russian robots struck just a few minutes after the air raid alarm was heard in Poltava at 09:00 on Tuesday, the BBC writes. 26-year-old student Mykyta Petrov told the channel that the robots struck within seconds, describing how he ran out of the educational institution hit by the attack.
- There was smoke and dust everywhere. Many had gone outside to smoke, and many were dead. There was too much blood, too many dead, says the 26-year-old.
