The US warns of potential terrorist attacks in Sweden.  

American citizens are now being asked to keep a low profile and avoid public gatherings.  

- The burning of the Koran, the Erdogan doll and the protests that followed can be threatening, says Säpo's spokesperson Adam Samara. 

"U.S. citizens are urged to exercise caution when going to public places frequented by large numbers of people. Gathering places such as for prayer may be targets. Use caution when in or near any diplomatic facilities," writes the United States :'s embassy in Sweden on its website.

Now the embassy is urging its citizens to take several measures. 

• Avoid public gatherings.  

• Keep a low profile. 

• Be aware of your surroundings. 

• Stay updated on local media updates.

Security police spokesperson Adam Samara says that they have taken note of the information. 

- We have taken part in them. All countries make their own threat assessments and have their own classifications. In the case of the United States, we refer to them. As for our assessment of the terror threat level, it remains at an elevated level, a third on a five-point scale.

The US warns: High risk of terrorist attacks in Stockholm  

The American embassy in Stockholm warns its citizens of an increased risk of terrorist attacks in Stockholm after the recent Koran burnings.  

In the embassy's statement, Americans are asked, among other things, to keep a low profile and avoid large crowds.  

Security police spokesperson Adam Samara tells SVT Nyheter that they have noted the information.  

- As far as our assessment is concerned, the terrorist threat level is currently unchanged and remains at an elevated level.
