Twelve injured in knife attack in Germany – woman arrested
At least twelve people have been injured in a knife attack at Hamburg's main train station, according to German media.
According to Bild, three of the victims have life-threatening injuries. Three are considered seriously injured and six people have minor injuries. Some of them are being treated on board the train.
The victims appear to have been attacked randomly and a 39-year-old woman has been arrested.
"Based on the information we have so far, we assume that she acted alone," the police said, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.
Witness: Heard screams – then everyone ran
A person who witnessed the stabbing attack at Hamburg's main train station on Friday evening told local newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt that the train station is more like a hospital because so many people are receiving treatment on site.
- There are police as far as the eye can see, says the newspaper's reporter on site.
A young woman says she was on the train platform when the attack happened.
“Luckily I didn’t have my headphones on. So I heard people screaming, then everyone ran away,” she says.
