Security around the Baltic Sea
Russian escalation along the border does not worry Trump

Donald Trump is not worried about Russia showing signs of military buildup along the borders with Finland and Norway, reports SVT Nyheter.

– No, I am not worried about it at all. These are two countries that will be very safe, the American president told the TV channel's correspondent during a question and answer session in the Oval Office.

Satellite images and intelligence reports show that Russia is expanding its military infrastructure near the borders with Finland and Norway. Analysts have previously said that the country could be ready for a war around the Baltic Sea in between two and five years, writes Aftonbladet.

Russians round up sanctions – "couriers" are clicking home luxury goods from countries in the West

Russians continue to order home luxury goods from countries in the West, despite EU sanctions and the fact that Russian bank cards do not work, writes SVT Nyheter.

Since the war broke out, Russian banks have been blocked from the international payment network Swift, while sanctions have been imposed on several luxury goods, including more expensive shoes, clothes and bags. But that has not stopped Russian consumers who have come up with an ingenious solution, namely using personal shoppers who buy the goods and then send them to Russia.

The shopping is carried out by so-called couriers, but also by companies such as the Russian logistics giant CDEK. The company's marketplace includes Swedish brands, including children's clothing from Polarn O. Pyret, paintings from Ikea and hair extensions from Rapunzel of Sweden.

Global Public Health
World's first gonorrhea vaccine programme

The world's first gonorrhea vaccine programme has been launched in England, news agencies report.

Cases of the sexually transmitted disease are at record levels, exceeding 85,000 in England in 2023. This is the highest number since statistics began to be documented in 1918.

The vaccination programme is a "huge step forward for sexual health".

- This vaccination programme is an extremely welcome measure at a time when we are seeing very worrying levels of gonorrhea, including antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea, says Sema Mandal, consultant epidemiologist at the National Health Service.
