Elon Musk stops spending money on politics, reports Politico.
- If I see a future reason to spend money on politics, I will. But right now I don't see any reason, he said at a meeting in Qatar yesterday.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, the owner of X, is said to have donated over $290 million of his own money to the Republican Party and to Donald Trump in connection with the 2024 election.
Since then, he has continued to pour money into trying to influence American politics, most recently in Wisconsin where he donated money to a conservative candidate ahead of a judge election for the state's Supreme Court - who lost.
