Yaron Lischinsky, 28, had bought a ring to propose to Sarah Lynn Milgrim.
Instead, the couple was shot to death in a suspected terrorist attack in Washington.
Now the Israeli embassy is releasing a picture of its murdered employees.
"Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues. They were having the best time of their lives," the Israeli embassy writes on Instagram.
Late Wednesday evening local time, the couple was shot to death outside the Jewish Museum in Washington.
“Tonight, a terrorist shot and killed them as they were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington. Everyone who works at the embassy is devastated and devastated by this murder. No words can express the depth of our grief and shock at this devastating loss.”

American media point to Elias Rodriguez, 30, from Chicago as the suspected killer.
He is suspected of having waited outside the museum when the couple left with two other people. He is then suspected of having cold-bloodedly walked up and shot Yaron and Sarah.
He is said to have surrendered to police and shouted “liberate Palestine, liberate Palestine” as he was taken away.
The act is being investigated as a terrorist attack.
Lischinsky was an Israeli citizen from Jerusalem, while Milgrim was an American, writes Israelhayom.
Milgrim is described as an active peace activist who worked to resolve the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
