Trump wants to reduce support for Musk: "No more rockets"

The Department of Efficiency Doge should look at cutting the subsidies that Tesla CEO Elon Musk's company has received. Donald Trump says this in a post on Truth Social, Reuters reports.

Trump says that "Elon may be getting more subsidies than any other person in history, by a wide margin".

"Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to shut down and go home to South Africa. No more rockets, satellites or electric car production. Our country would save a fortune", he writes.

Donald Trump's threat to ask the Department of Efficiency Doge to cut subsidies to Elon Musk's company does not scare the Tesla CEO. In a comment on X, he reacts to the president's statement:

"I'll say it bluntly: cut it all out. Now."

Musk has also shared posts claiming that his criticism of Donald Trump's budget is not about eliminating subsidies for electric cars at all, but about increasing the national debt.

After the verbal spat between the former partners, Tesla's stock plummeted 6 percent in pre-market trading.

Trump: Looking to see if we can deport Elon Musk

The dispute between perhaps the world's most powerful men, Elon Musk and Donald Trump, continues and the American president says that the White House is looking into whether it is possible to deport the South African tech billionaire, several media outlets report.

- I don't really know, we'll have to look into it, Trump answers a direct question about whether they are considering deporting Musk.

He continues by joking that Doge, the efficiency ministry that Elon Musk ran, should set its sights on Musk's subsidies.

The Tesla owner is furious that Trump's budget proposal is expected to increase government costs, the exact opposite of what Doge worked for. Trump, however, claims that Musk is actually angry that the electric car subsidies that Tesla makes a lot of money on are disappearing in the budget proposal.
