Developments around Greenland must not distract from the importance of defending Ukraine, according to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

– The main issue is not Greenland. The main issue is Ukraine, he says.

Rutte says he is “a little worried” that other issues could cause the Ukraine war to be overshadowed, reports The Guardian.

The statement comes in connection with the World Economic Forum in Davos.

– The risk here is that of course the focus is on Greenland, because we have to ensure that this issue is resolved in an amicable manner, he says.

However, he points out that Russia continues to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure and that it is minus 20 degrees in Kiev.

– They need our support now, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, he says.
