Witkoff meets Putin in Moscow

US envoy Steve Witkoff is traveling to Moscow on Thursday to meet with President Vladimir Putin.

Businessman Witkoff, who is currently in Davos for the World Economic Forum, is President Donald Trump's envoy tasked with negotiating a peace settlement in the Ukraine war. He will be accompanied on the trip to Russia by Trump's son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner.

Witkoff states that "the Russians" asked for the meeting and that "a lot of progress" has been made in recent weeks in ending the Russian offensive war in Ukraine.
