The double whammy for Trump: Is historically disapproved

Donald Trump's first 100 days as president have not been appreciated by Americans.
According to two major opinion polls, a president has not been this disapproved of in 80 years.
But there is a group of politicians that citizens think even worse.
Only 39 percent of Americans think that Trump has done a good job during his first 100 days in the White House, according to a new survey conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the Washington Post and ABC News.
Shortly afterwards, CNN released a similar survey where the figure lands at 41 percent.
Both figures are the worst an American president has had at the same time since 1945, reports ABC News.
Calls pollsters “fake”
The so-called 100-day mark is a classic measuring point for Americans’ attitude towards the incumbent president. Even the Trump-friendly Fox News channel released a poll earlier this week where the figure landed at a record low of 44 percent.
Something that made Trump see red, and attack the channel’s owner Rupert Murdoch.
“Rupert Murdoch has told me for years that he will get rid of his Fox News, Trump-hating, fake pollster, but he never did,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Beats Democrats
Despite the dismal numbers, there is some comfort for Trump.
When asked by Ipsos who Americans think has the best chance of solving America's problems, the president still beats one group: Democrats in Congress.
Respondents in the Ipsos poll also think that Donald Trump has a greater understanding of what worries citizens than the Democrats.
