Europe's heat waves

Mobile network may be shut down: "Would be problematic"

Travel companies Ving and Apollo are preparing for the upcoming heat wave in Spain, writes Expressen. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' advice to Swedish travelers warns that the mobile network may be shut down in certain areas and Apollo's contact with its customers is usually via text message, telephone and email.

- That would of course be very problematic. We have staff on site to provide information at various travel destinations, but not at all, says Martina Krantz, press officer.

Dian Martinez Valencia at Tui urges travelers to have updated contact information in their bookings.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns Swedes of the heat in Spain - ahead of a four-day heat wave

Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns Swedes in Spain of the heat, writes TT. The severe heat wave is expected to hit large parts of Spain over the next four days. The heat is expected to reach up to 47 degrees.

In some areas, the mobile network may be down, warns the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which advises, among other things, to check where there are places where mobile phones have coverage. Tourists are also urged to find out how to call 112.

Expert advice: Rest, drink and keep an eye on your children

Use air conditioning, drink plenty and plan activities for early morning or evening. This is cardiologist Petter Ljungman's advice to Swedish travelers ahead of the severe heat wave that is sweeping across Spain.

Extreme heat hits risk groups hardest, and Ljungman tells TT that you should seek shade during the day and make sure that fragile people drink water before they get thirsty.

- Also pay attention to warning signs in both children and the elderly of symptoms of heatstroke, such as nausea and headaches.

The heat has prompted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue a warning to Swedish tourists.
