Trump's USA Trump's budget

Republicans ready to vote for "big, beautiful bill"

Senate Republicans plan to hold a first vote on Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" today, the budget proposal that includes major tax cuts.

Several senators who previously expressed doubts about the proposals presented by the president now say they are ready to vote yes, Reuters reports.

The proposals are contained in a 940-page document and also involve spending more money on the military and the border issue. Republicans have a narrow majority in the Senate and can only afford for three party members to vote no on the proposal.

The vote would be a first step towards getting the budget through. If the Senate gives the green light to the budget, the House of Representatives is likely to quickly approve it and then send the matter to Trump's desk.

Elon Musk's new criticism: "Completely insane"

Donald Trump's former partner Elon Musk criticized the president's budget package, which is being considered by the Senate on Saturday night. In a post on his own platform X, the Tesla CEO writes that it will destroy millions of jobs and cause the United States "tremendous damage".

"Completely insane and destructive. It distributes subsidies to yesterday's industries while seriously harming the future."

Trump and Musk got into a heated argument on X about the bill at the beginning of the month, in which Musk accused the president of being involved in the investigation into sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The post was later deleted and Musk has said that he "regrets some of the comments".

The outcome in the Senate is described as very important for Trump, and the largest vote so far this term.
