Thailand wants to tighten the rules on cannabis

Three years after Thailand decriminalized cannabis, they now want to tighten the rules on the sale of the drug, reports TT.

A regulation banning the sale of cannabis for recreational purposes was signed by Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin late on Tuesday.

Plans to limit recreational use have been raised several times before by the Thai government but so far have not become a reality.

When cannabis was decriminalized in 2022, there was a huge cannabis boom and shops opened for sale all over the country. It was the first time that a country in Southeast Asia decriminalized the drug.

North Korea opens resort to tourists: "New era"

A brand new tourist resort is opening on North Korea's east coast, news agencies report.

The country calls it a taste of a new era in the country's tourism industry. However, it is unclear when and if the zone will open to foreign tourists, but domestic ones are welcome from next week.

The Wonsan-Kalma resort will be a special zone with hotels and accommodations for nearly 20,000 guests. There are restaurants, cafes, sports facilities and the opportunity to swim in the sea.

During an opening ceremony, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un called the resort “one of the biggest successes of this year,” according to the state propaganda agency KCNA.

The syringe attacks in France
145 reported to have been stabbed by syringes at festival

145 people reported being stabbed by unknown syringes in France during the nationwide music festival “Fête de la Musique” this week, France24 reports.

One of the victims, 22-year-old Manon, tells CNN that she felt a prick in her arm during the celebration in Bordeaux.

“Someone poked me on my left forearm. Then I started to go numb, like when you get a vaccine. 30 minutes later, the prick mark appeared,” she says.

At least 12 people have been arrested after the events and it is still unclear what may have been injected into the victims, writes The Guardian.
