Orbán to travel to US to discuss sanctions with Trump

Next week, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will fly to Washington DC to meet with Donald Trump, the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said. The leaders will discuss, among other things, the US sanctions against Russian oil companies.

The US decision has raised concerns in Hungary and Slovakia, where Russian oil is important for energy supplies. Orbán himself has previously said that Hungary is working to find ways to circumvent the sanctions.

- We will try to find a solution, especially for Hungary, he said in an interview with the Italian La Repubblica on Monday.

Negotiations
A peace plan in Ukraine to be discussed within ten days

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj said in an interview with Axios that Ukraine and other world leaders will discuss a peace plan in the next ten days.

Following the meeting between Donald Trump and Zelensky, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has suggested that a peace proposal, in line with Trump's Gaza plan, be presented.

According to Zelensky, the plan should be short and without complicated details, but he also emphasizes that he does not believe that Vladimir Putin is ready to accept a peace plan.
