US negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are in Moscow to discuss a possible end to the war in Ukraine.

Ahead of this, Russia has carried out more deadly attacks on Ukraine.

Negotiations are expected to take place this weekend between the Trump administration's envoys and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

- They have a proposal to end the war, said President Donald Trump when he confirmed Kushner and Witkoff's trip, writes AFP.

At noon on Saturday, Kushner and Witkoff are reported to have landed at Vnukovo airport just southwest of Moscow, writes the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.

According to the news site Axios, the two Americans are to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in person on Saturday.

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that the Kremlin will comment on "contacts" between the countries only after a meeting has taken place, the state news agency Tass reports.

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are said to be traveling to Kiev on Sunday to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The new attempts at negotiations are taking place at the same time as Russia continues to attack Ukraine. In Kamianske, just west of the large city of Dnipro, at least four people were killed in a nighttime attack, Dnipropetrovsk region governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram.

In the Kiev region, a nine-story building was hit in Boryspil, a couple of miles outside the capital, according to Ukrainian authorities.

On Friday, the headquarters of the Ukrainian security service SBU in Kiev was hit by a Russian drone, according to President Zelensky. Later in the evening, an explosion was heard in the central parts of the capital, writes The Kyiv Independent.
