With balaclavas over their faces, 300 black-clad protesters are blocking the roads to and from the port of Dover in the UK.
According to British media, they are demanding an end to the “invasion”.
On Saturday morning, a large group of black-clad and masked people were seen walking in the middle of the roads in Kent, England, reports Sky News.
Shortly afterwards, they began blocking the roads and stopping all traffic to and from the port of Dover.
According to media reports in the UK, the protesters are believed to belong to a far-right group – Patriot Platform. A group that was launched in June and protests against migrants crossing the English Channel.
During the morning, several posts expressing support for the protesters have been shared on the X platform. “HUNDREDS of patriots have gathered with Danny Tommo in Dover this morning to DEMAND an end to the invasion of Britain,” writes one account, according to The Telegraph.
“Enjoy the weekend”
There are also reports that the protesters are planning to block the roads for three days, the newspaper writes.Meanwhile, politicians in Dover are urging the protesters to go home.
“Go home, enjoy the weekend/get a job,” wrote Mike Tapp, a Labour MP, on Facebook.
The port of Dover is Europe’s busiest passenger port.
