Greek fighter jet crashes during display
Two pilots died when a Greek fighter jet crashed during a display show north of Athens, public service broadcaster ERT reports.
The accident occurred on Saturday during a maneuver with the plane, an F-4 Phantom. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear, but the plane quickly lost altitude before crashing on a runway at Tanagra air base, according to ERT.
The plane exploded when it reached the ground and images from the scene show a large column of smoke rising into the sky, a few hundred meters from visitors. There are no reports of spectators being injured in the accident.
