Two rescued in Nepal – ten days after the landslide
Two people have been rescued after the landslide in Nepal – a Chinese citizen and a woman, the country's military said, AFP reports.
Ten days after the deadly landslides and floods in the Himalayas, two more people have been rescued. A man who was working in a hydroelectric tunnel was found alive and rescued on Saturday morning.
He is one of three workers in the country's hydroelectric tunnels who have been rescued in the past 24 hours.
In the city of Nuwakot, a woman who had been trapped in the rubble for ten days was also pulled out and rescued by rescue workers on Saturday morning, AP writes. The woman has been taken to hospital in the capital Kathmandu.
At least 1,344 people have been confirmed dead and nearly 5,000 are missing in landslides and floods in Nepal, according to Nepalese police. Additional people have died and are missing in Tibet on the Chinese side of the border.
