Today is Women's Day in Thailand. King Vajiralongkorn's fourth wife, former Thai Airways flight attendant Suthida "Nui" Tidjai, gave a speech in Bangkok on women's rights. "I am proud to be a Thai woman," she said. You can see her whole speech here: 1/4

But literally just 4 days ago, Suthida was sitting on a throne beside her notoriously sadistic and sexist husband as he awarded a special royal title to another member of his harem, Sineenat “Koi” Wongvajirapakdi. Koi crawled at the king's feet, as Nui looked on impassively. 2/4

Vajiralongkorn's 3rd wife Srirasmi Suwadee is under house arrest in Ratchaburi. His 2nd wife Yuvathida Polpraserth was banished from Thailand in 1996. Thailand is regressing to the era of absolute monarchy with a king who can abuse and accumulate women however he pleases. 3/4

For Nui to claim she is standing up for women's rights is a bad joke. 4/4
