BREAKING: Khao San Road business operators have decided to cancel its NYE Countdown celebrations due to the "emotional fragility" of the Thai people, said Khao San Road Business Operators Association President Sa-nga Ruengwattanakul late Friday.
Sa-nga didn't mention the fact that HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha is still unconscious and being hospitalised. He added however that otherwise business at the famous backpackers' haven will remain open on new year's eve till late as usual.

Chief Petty Officer First Class Kunakorn Jirayot of the ill-fated HTMS Sukhothai is being lauded as a hero by fellow officers and netizens. Originally among the survivors of the sank ship, Kunakorn borrowed a life vest from a fellow officer after he was saved from another ship and went back to the sea again alone before it reached ashore in a attempt to save others.
