Russian reactions
The FSB knew about Biden's visit but gave no guarantees

The Russian FSB states that it did not provide any security guarantees to US President Joe Biden in connection with his trip to Kyiv. This is what the head of the intelligence service, Aleksander Bortnikov, told the state news agency Tass, Reuters reports.

Bortnikov stated at the same time that there are still diplomatic contacts between the countries.

- But they are not at the same level as before. No one benefits from them more than the other. Everyone is interested in maintaining the relationships.

The Russian invasion. The outside world's response
Lies and sham maneuvers during Biden's historic journey

Officially, Joe Biden was in Washington, rested after a discreet dinner at an Italian restaurant, but in reality he was on a night train through the Ukrainian countryside. This is reported by the Washington Post, the New York Times and the AP, all of which describe the secret game behind the American president's unexpected visit to Kyiv.

The visit is the first in Biden's lifetime for a US president to enter a war zone not controlled by US forces. A couple of hours after midnight, he was sneaked out of the White House. Four hours after he later crossed the Ukrainian border, the administration lied to reporters that he was still in Washington.

That Biden traveled by train was a necessity because Ukrainian airspace has been closed since the large-scale invasion began.

"US support unwavering - NATO stronger than ever"

"US support for Ukraine remains unwavering - and NATO is stronger than ever," says President Joe Biden in his speech during the meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda. This is reported by several news agencies.

Biden's visit to Poland began over the weekend and continues on Tuesday after the president's unannounced visit to Kyiv. US Defense Secretary Jake Sullivan describes Poland as a "crucial player", which played an important role in receiving a "very large number of Ukrainian refugees".

In connection with the meeting, Biden and Duda will also discuss the situation in Poland and possible increased NATO presence in the country.

Johnson and Truss press Sunak about the fighters

Send fighter jets to Ukraine. That call was directed by former prime ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to Britain's current leader Rishi Sunak during a parliamentary debate on the war, writes The Independent.

- We need to do everything we can so that Ukraine can win the war as soon as possible, said Truss.

She also said that money seized from the Russian state should be used to rebuild Ukraine.

Johnson said Ukraine must get what they need.

- Not next month, not next year, but now.
