Information: DJ and his wife hunted for drone attack
A Ukrainian former DJ and his wife are being singled out by Russian state media for the spectacular drone attack on Russian air bases, several media outlets report.
Artem Timofeyev is said to have owned a trucking company whose trucks transported drones that were used to attack an air base in Chelyabinsk, Russia. One of the drivers said that an anonymous person called him as he approached the air base to give instructions on where and when they should stop, reports Meduza.
Timofeyev was born in Donetsk, Ukraine, but has lived in Russia for several years with his wife. The couple is now suspected of having fled the country.
The Wall Street Journal has searched in vain for Timofeyev.
Kremlin admits bridge attack – but not alleged damage
Russia admits that an explosion yesterday shook the Crimean Bridge that connects the annexed Crimean peninsula with the Russian mainland. But you can't go any further than that.
- It was an explosion, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to Reuters.
- Nothing was damaged. The bridge is working, he continues.
This contradicts the statement from Ukraine's SBU intelligence service, which says the bridge is in "critical condition". The independent newspaper Moscow Times has not been able to verify the claim. After the attack, car traffic over the bridge was temporarily stopped.
According to the SBU, over a thousand kilograms of explosives were placed at the bridge abutments, an operation that was planned for months. The attack took place shortly after the spectacular drone attack that knocked out many Russian bombers.
